Meta is rolling out voice and expressive avatars in the Muse app, starting in the United States. The Newsroom post, dated 5 November 2026, says the feature is available on mobile, web and Mac. Tap the phone icon in the top-right corner to start talking. @AIatMeta confirms the US app rollout of Muse Realtime Avatar, previewed at Connect.
What you get
Meta describes three presence modes: voice only, the avatar alongside your conversation, or full screen for a face-to-face feel. The avatar uses expressions and gestures that match the tone while it listens and speaks. Meta says there are hundreds of voice styles you can change whenever you want, and that Muse Realtime Avatar plus Muse Realtime Voice support interruptible, fluid conversations.
This is a product surface on the Muse app, not a re-announcement of Muse Wonder. Wonder remains the model and access story from October; voice is how you talk through brainstorming, trip planning or interview practice without typing every prompt.
Coming soon, and what stays the same
Voice conversations with Muse are “coming soon” to AI Glasses and Muse Charm, per Meta. Privacy and consent questions around what Muse can hold about other people still sit with Meta’s existing Muse policies, which we covered in friends data and consent.
Why this matters
Realtime voice turns Muse from a typed agent into something you can use while walking or cooking, which is the same always-on instinct rivals chase with text-first agents. It sits on Meta’s Muse stack that Nvidia also deepened with a $3 billion equity stake, so expect more Muse client surfaces before new model cards. For builders, the practical check is interruptibility and presence modes in the US app today, not Glasses or Charm until Meta ships them.
