OpenAI’s Help Center lists three monthly ChatGPT Pro plans. Pro 500 is $500 and, among those plans, the one that includes Astra Ultrafast. Pro 200 is open to new subscribers again at $200, with a lower included allowance when the account is outside the grandfather window.

The tiers article says Pro 200 includes more usage than Pro 100, and Pro 500 has the highest included usage of the three. It states no message cap and no multiple of Plus. chatgpt.com/pricing shows Pro as a choice of three usage tiers and lists response time as “Ultrafast (on eligible tiers).” The dollar rows above are the Help Center table.
Pro 200, old allowance and new
New Pro 200 subscriptions are on the pricing page. Subscriptions that miss grandfathering include a lower allowance than Pro 200 used to, which OpenAI ties to “increasingly efficient models.” The monthly price stays $200.
Grandfathering applies if the account had an active Pro 200 subscription at any point from September 22, 2026 through 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 29, 2026. Eligible customers keep the previous included allowance through October 29, 2026, while that Pro 200 subscription stays active. After that date the allowance moves to the lower one. The price stays $200. OpenAI says it emails the people this change affects.
Keeping the current allowance leaves the plan on Pro 200. It does not add Ultrafast. If Pro 200 ended and the same account subscribes again, the September window still decides grandfathering. Scheduling a cancellation leaves access through the current billing period.
Ultrafast
Among Pro plans, Ultrafast is on Pro 500 only. Select it in the model picker. It uses included usage first, then the credit balance. At launch, buying credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock it.
Against Standard mode for the same model, OpenAI says Fast mode consumes included allowance at 2.5 times the rate, and GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast at 8 times the rate. Those figures are allowance rates. OpenAI says they are not a guarantee of faster performance. Purchased credits use different rates.
The Help Center changelog places the Pro 500 note under October 2, 2026: Astra Ultrafast in ChatGPT Work and Codex, with Pro 500 subscriptions available through ChatGPT on the web at launch. OpenAI’s DevDay 2026 page is dated September 29, 2026, and already describes Ultrafast on the Pro $500 plan. The prices in this brief follow the Pro tiers article.
Shoppers who want Ultrafast on a Pro plan are on the $500 tier at launch. Pro 200 accounts inside the September window keep the older allowance through October 29, 2026, then move to the lower allowance at the same $200.
