Newsrooms are reporting that Anthropic told prospective investors its third-quarter 2026 revenue was 16.8 billion dollars. The figure is not in an SEC filing, and it is not presented by these outlets as audited GAAP. Anthropic’s news index, opened 15 October 2026, did not list a quarterly revenue announcement among the items on that page.

BBC News, by Osmond Chia, with datePublished 2026-10-15T01:14:23.493Z, says Anthropic’s revenue surged 45 percent to 16.8 billion dollars, which the BBC prints as 12.7 billion pounds, in the three months to the end of September. The BBC says it understands this, and that the Claude developer briefed prospective investors on Wednesday at its San Francisco headquarters. A stock-market listing, the BBC writes, is expected before the end of the year. Revenue rose from 4.7 billion dollars in the first three months to 11.6 billion dollars in the following period, the same story says. It also says the company reportedly said it made a profit for the second quarter in a row. The BBC story does not use the word “adjusted,” and it does not say Anthropic commented.

CNBC, by Jenny Lee and Kate Rooney, with datePublished 2026-10-15T03:48:58+0000, cites people familiar with the matter. It says Anthropic told investors third-quarter revenue stands at 16.8 billion dollars, up from 11.6 billion dollars in the second quarter, with first-quarter revenue at 4.7 billion dollars, and that Anthropic said it was profitable on an adjusted basis in the third quarter. CNBC says the company also told investors it was cash-flow positive, generating 1.70 dollars of revenue for every dollar spent on computing power, and it attributes that sentence to the Financial Times. The Financial Times article was not opened here. CNBC does not use the words “free cash flow.”

Reuters and Bloomberg, through syndicated copies

Bloomberg’s report is quoted here from The Straits Times, whose page ends with the credit BLOOMBERG and whose pubdate field is 2026-10-15 07:16:00. It says people familiar with the matter said Anthropic told prospective investors third-quarter revenue hit 16.8 billion US dollars, printed with 21.6 billion Singapore dollars beside it. In a presentation on 14 October at the San Francisco headquarters, the people said, the company told investors it had achieved profitability on an adjusted basis. A spokesperson for Anthropic declined to comment. The Financial Times, this copy says, reported some of the figures earlier on 14 October. The Straits Times text does not repeat the 11.6 billion or 4.7 billion quarterly figures.

A Reuters story datelined New York and San Francisco on 14 October is carried by Channel NewsAsia. The page credits Reuters, and its NewsArticle datePublished is 2026-10-15T06:26:59+08:00. Two people who attended an investor day said third-quarter revenue rose 45 percent, to 16.8 billion dollars from 11.6 billion in the second quarter and 4.7 billion in the first, and that Anthropic told the group it was profitable on an adjusted basis. The copy says Anthropic did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. It also says attendees met chief executive Dario Amodei and chief financial officer Krishna Rao, and that some hats handed out read “thinking.”

The 16.8 billion, 11.6 billion and 4.7 billion figures agree across BBC, CNBC and the Reuters copy. Only BBC and the Reuters copy state the 45 percent. Only CNBC, the Reuters copy and the Bloomberg copy say the profitability was on an adjusted basis. Only the BBC says a profit for a second quarter in a row, and it does not say “adjusted.”

Listing timing, as each outlet leaves it

The timing is not one date. The BBC says a listing is expected before the end of the year. CNBC says the offering is reportedly slated for November. The Reuters copy says a public debut is likely to be pushed until after the November US midterm elections, and it marks that line as earlier Reuters reporting. The Straits Times copy says Bloomberg has reported that formal marketing could begin as soon as the week of 9 November, with trading before Thanksgiving and a debut no later than the end of the year, and that people familiar said deliberations are ongoing and the timeline could still shift.

None of the four texts is a company release. A separate briefing on another lab’s reported listing, Moonshot’s reported Hong Kong plans, is about a valuation and a 2027 window. It does not supply these Anthropic figures.
